MBA in Marketing and Digital Business



Overview

An MBA degree combined with sector specific skills carries considerable value and prestige with employers worldwide. The Woolich Education MBA Degree is designed to allow master’s graduates to further enhance their managerial knowledge and capabilities through applied learning using case studies, group work and real businesses examples. This program is suited to candidates who already possess a master’s degree or significant managerial experience and are looking to enter or gain promotion in a particular industry or sector.

The program comprises one intensive study block of 6 months, full-time study, with 2 core managerial and 2 specializations subjects being studied in each quarter. This is followed by an optional paid internship period of 6 months in Mauritius or overseas, for students wishing to gain further work experience before proceeding on their career track.

Aim of the Program

The program develops students’ theoretical and operational knowledge of current themes and developments in the international business world through 4 core modules. This forms a foundation for the 4 specialization modules in contemporary digital applications for marketing and business logistics . This will allow graduates to either initiate or enhance a career in a wide range of industries. Building on their prior master’ studies, the Woolich Education MBA in Marketing and Digital Business educates students to:

  • effectively utilise technology to analyse and interpret data
  • propose solutions to address a variety of business scenarios
  • develop professional competences in their subject area
  • communicate effectively, with colleagues and a wider audience, in a variety of media.

Students learn food service systems, an extensive range of hospitality business management applications, foreign languages and leadership skills to name a few of the academic disciplines. Throughout the program, Swiss virtues, such as discipline, punctuality, ethics and hygiene are encouraged as they are highly valued throughout the world and count as much as academic and practical skills in ensuring a successful career.


Paid Industry Training in Mauritius

Woolich Education benefits from an excellent relationship with an extensive network of employers, mainly in the hospitality and tourism fields. Students choosing to complete an internship will therefore normally complete their training in the hospitality /service. Students with advanced local language skills may be eligible for back of house roles in marketing, finance, HRM etc. Alternatively, students may choose to undertake an internship overseas in a wide range of industries, using the support of the internship department.

The hospitality internship salary in Mauritius, negotiated between the employers’ association and the Employee Union, is presently set at minimum CHF 2’168 per month gross. From this salary, students have to pay for room, board, and taxes. The average net income per month varies from CHF 1’000 to 1’400. Salaries for internships completed overseas vary from country to country and the position available.


Entry Requirements

  • RGU MSc International Hospitality Business Management or Global Business Management or equivalent recognised Masters qualification
  • English language skills at a minimum level equal to IELTS 6.0

Course Times

Monday to Friday from 09:00 to 12:00 and/or from 14:00 to 17:00 or 19:00. Saturday courses may be offered in some terms from 11:30 to 17:30.
